Monastic Long Life Ritual Vase: Empowered, Tibet, 16th Century

A Bhumba or Kamandalu is a ritual altar vase and blessed water pitcher.

The vase normally hold a spray of peacock feathers symbolizing immunity from life’s poisons.

The water - the nectar of life - is poured from the Dragon’s mouth.

It is the symbol of long life and it kept on the altar.

Made of Brass (or some similar alloy) it is somewhat worn -not unusual given it’s age,

and is in good condition.

Note the empowerment mantra (prayer) along it’s base.

Size: 7 inches tall x 6.75 inches across
