    The Chagdud Gonpa Foundation is a Tibetan Vajrayana organization founded by H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche with dharma centers in South America, North America, Europe and Asia. The original Chagdud Gonpa was a monastery in Tibet, founded in the 12th century and rebuilt after a fire in the 13th century. From the time of it's rebuilding to the present, the Gonpa has functioned as a center of Dharma, a place of teaching and practice, and, until 1959, as the primary seat of the 16 successive incarnations of Chagdud Rinpoche. The Chagdud Gonpa Foundation was established in 1983 by Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche to preserve Nyingma teachings and to provide instruction in the traditions of Vajrayana Buddhism, especially the arts, philosophy, and meditation practices. Chagdud Gonpa centers sponsor many events and retreats throughout the year.


  • Shambhala Mandala of Centers
    This is the network of centers founded by the the late Vidyadhara the Ven Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, renowned for his ability to present authentic Buddhist teachings in English in a modern idiom. The Shambhala organization currently consists of more than 150 centers, throughout the US and Europe (a few in South America and Asia), as well as major rural contemplative practice centers and a monastic center. Introductory programs in meditation as well as the complete path of Tibetan Buddhism of the Kagyu and Nyingma schools are presented. Trungpa Rinpoche was also renowned for his presentation of the teachings of Shambhala, related to the Kalacakra tantra, presented in a series of popular, non sectarian, secular meditation programs called Shambhala Training, based on creatinga vision of enlightened society and the tradition of warriorship. The Shambhala mandala of centers is currently directed by Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche, eldest son of Trungpa Rinpoche. He is assisted in his teaching by a number of acaryas, senior students of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

    The Karma Kagyu Buddhist Network (KKBN) is an international computer network which is operated by volunteer coordinators in order to enable and enhance communication between organizations, centers, groups and individuals. The KKBN provides information about the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, supports communication among interested parties and introduces a world-wide online Sangha. The KKBN exists under the spiritual guidance of the 17th Karmapa, Thaye Dorje and is directed by Lama Ole Nydahl.

    Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition Web Site. Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-1984) and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, together as teacher and disciple since their exile in India, met their first Western student in 1965 and by 1971 had settled at Kopan, near Kathmandu in Nepal.   • Vajrayana Buddhist Center - Chicago
    A non-profit organization offering introductory meditation classes and retreats throughout the Chicago area, as well as in Madison, WI. Vajrayana Center also offers the Foundation Program, a structured program of study in the basic subjects of Mahayana Buddhism [correspondence program available]. Classes are taught in English by western Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Khedrub and are open to everyone.

  • Madhyamaka Centre (Yorkshire, England)
    Madhyamaka Centrewas founded in 1983 by a Tibetan Lama called Geshe Kelsang, who had been invited to England by a group of people wanting to learn authentic meditation techniques from a qualified master. The centre started in Hebden Bridge, and later moved to the city of York. As it grew in popularity it moved again, this time to Kilnwick Percy Hall just outside York, where there was sufficient space to accommodate its growing programme of activities.

In 1992, she received the full ordination Bhiksuni vows in the Chinese Buddhist tradition from Master Hsing Yun.

    A Tibetan Buddhist organization established in Hong Kong belonging to the Nyingma School. We are specially dedicated to Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, his incarnation and his enlightened activities all over the world. Our spiritual advisor is Kyabje Chadral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, and our spiritual leader is Kyabje Dudjom Yangsi Rinpoche. Our Chinese teacher was the late Ven. Lama Sonam Chokyi Gyaltsan ( Guru Lau ), and his Dharma-heir and now the instructor-in-charge of our centre is Yeshe Thaye. We published an English-Chinese bilingual Buddhist journal entitled "Pema Osel", and is distributed to peoples all over the world free of charge. Anyone who is interested to get a free copy can send some contributions to cover for the expansive mailing costs. Our Dharma centre offers classes of meditation, Buddhist teachings and thee Tibetan language to the general public. We also do puja offerings and sojongg on special days of the Tibetan Calendar.

Thubten Chodron grew up near Los Angeles. She studied and practiced Buddhism of the Tibetan tradition for many years in India and Nepal. Ven Chodron was a co-organizer of "Life as a Western Buddhist Nun", and took part in the conferences of Western Buddhist teachers with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1993 and 1994.
